There has never been a generation like this before, and the Church has never before faced a time like this. In fact, many people are asking, “Is this the end of the end? Could this be the end of the world?” These questions echo though the Body of Christ, and we need answers so we can know what to expect. We need to mow what time it is.
Jesus foretold of this final hour in Matthew 24:4,6-8,
“…Take heed that no man deceive you…and ye shall hear wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: For all of these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdofi1 against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All of these things are the beginning of sorrows.” And then, in verse 14,”…this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.”
These scriptures read like CNN Headline News-signs all around signal the end is here. Everything the prophets have said is unfolding before our eyes. And yet, even though these negative events are definite markers of time to help us recognize our place on the end-time clock, there are even more significant things for the Church to fix our eyes on. We can only temporarily restrain darkness, but we can still have a great effect on the end!
The first thing we must do to affect the end is to adjust our focus. We can watch what’s happening in the dark, or we can watch what’s happening in the light! It’s like a camera-it all depends on where we focus-at a distance or up close. A photographer adjusts his lens to see clearly, and it’s the same with observers of the times. We can focus on darkness and say, “It’s getting bad out here. Terrorists attacked our nation! Our economy is bad!” Or, we can focus on light and say, “The end is a result of harvest!” So often we look at the signs that precede the end when we ought to look a the condition of the end.
No matter what signs of the times stare us in the face, the condition of the end is that Jesus won’t return until the Gospel is preached to every nation, tongue, kindred and tribe and the harvest is reached, It’s time for the Church to focus on the fact and get busy reaping! We must stretch ourselves to think bigger in these last days. We cannot think “a city” or “a nation” anymore-we must think” Whole wide world:” God needs for all of us to have a world vision because here have never been six billion soul on the earth before-there’s never been a ripe and waiting harvest like this one.
We’re at a time like no other in church history, and we’re going to reap a massive harvest and witness awesome displays of Holy Ghost power. “These things are not way off in the future-they’re right here and right now and for us. Could this really be the end? Yes! The finest hour and best and brightest days of the Church are right at hand.
