“To what can I compare the people of this generation?” Jesus asked. “How can I describe them? They are like children playing a game in the public square. They complain to their friends, ‘We played wedding songs, and you didn’t dance, so we played funeral songs, and you didn’t weep.’ For John the Baptist didn’t spend his time eating bread or drinking wine, and you say, ‘He’s possessed by a demon.’ The Son of Man, on the other hand, feasts and drinks, and you say, ‘He’s a glutton and a drunkard, and a friend of tax collectors and other sinners!’ But wisdom is shown to be right by the lives of those who follow it. ” – Luke 7:31-35 NLT
Jesus is the ultimate leader and I like to use His leadership techniques. In Luke 7, He is obviously pointing out to His disciples that no matter what a leader does, He will not be able to please all the people. Therefore, a man of God must understand the will of God for every situation so he can lead in that direction no matter what people think they want as an outcome.
When you accept your calling as a leader for God, you come to realize that giving people what they “want” is not so much the job. Giving people what they “need” is the job of a man of God.

Leaders are chosen to win for you! Leadership isn’t fair, but neither is the Favor of God. Do not be upset when the very people you are called to lead decide to persecute you. Jesus knew it and predicted it. Realize that God has given you Favor in all situations and you will come out on top. Go with God on every decision, not with the popular public opinion.
I am asking you to share your thoughts with me on leadership, our weekly blogs or any other topic on your mind. My email is GF@GFWatkins.org. Let me hear from you!
