The Lord continued to bring the same message to my heart over and over. Through His Word, He persistently confirmed His promise to me. Yet, to be honest, my circumstances contradicted what I was hearing from the Lord. My limited vision became fixated on the condition at-hand instead of on God’s promise to me. All of a sudden, doubt began to take over my heart. Had I heard correctly from God? What if I had missed it? As I spent time pondering over these questions, a spirit of fear began to invade my heart.
“Remember the word to Your servant, In which You have made me hope” (Psalm 119:49).Tweet
As time passed, God continued to speak His constant word of hope to my heart even though my circumstances remained the same. When I doubted, “I shut down inside.” However, when I believed God, “My spirit came alive.”
God was calling my heart to “Take Him” at His Word. A call to faith like never before was issued. Would I believe God—or man? Would I stand on what He had spoken to me or drown in the sea of doubt?
“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19).Tweet
It was time to take God at His word and move on in confidence as I waited for Him to bring His miracle to pass. Both God’s Word and His Spirit reassured me I had heard from Him. Thus, I moved forward in His confidence, trusting that He would bring to pass all He had spoken in His time and in His way. I did not have to try and make anything happen. In a world that is ever-changing—we can always be confident of God’s character and of His love for His children. He is faithful to His Word and to His own. We can stand on His promises with full assurance without fear. God is trustworthy! If He said it—then He will do it. Hold on—your miracle is coming!
