As we enter the month of August, we have to remember that God desires always to lead us into the right place or season that He is planning for the future. Psalm 37:23 declares, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and He delights in His ways.” The living bible declares, “The steps of good men are directed by the Lord. He delights in each step they take.” God is not withholding His direction for our life. He knows what is best for us and desires to lead us into His perfect will for our lives. Whatever new cross road we may be at, we can be sure God will speak to us in our hearts, as we seek Him for our next step.
Seeking Supernatural Direction from a Supernatural God
When we take the time to fellowship with God through the Word and prayer, supernatural direction will come. Proverbs 8:17 declares, “I love them love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.” The Living Bible declares, “I love all who love me. Those who search for me shall find me.” God’s Word Translation declares, “I love those who love me. Those eagerly looking for me will find me.” James Denney once said, “The kingdom of heaven is not for the well meaning but for the desperate.” When we make finding God and His will for our lives our strongest desire, His supernatural direction will come. One unknown author once said, “Whosoever walks toward God one cubit, God runs toward him twain.” James 4:8 declares, “Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.” The Living bible declares, “And when you draw close to God, God will draw close to you.” When we make it our priority to press and seek God for His direction, He will make it His priority to reveal Himself and His supernatural direction unto us.
Putting His Thoughts and Plans Above Ours
Putting God first means we set our plans down to seek His. It is very easy to initiate good thoughts into action and actually miss God. Isaiah 55:8-9 (Living Bible) declares, “This plan of mine is not what you would work out, neither are my thoughts the same as yours. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than yours, and my thoughts than yours.” So many times we have all our arrangements orderly and lined out and we fail to stop and ask ourselves, “Is this me and my plans or God and His plans?” Proverbs 16:1 says, “The preparations of the heart in man the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord.” The Living Bible declares, “We can make our plans, but he final outcome is in god’s hand.” the Message Bible declares, “Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word.” The Young’s Translation declares, “Of man are arrangements of the heart, and from Jehovah an answer of the tongue.” The Amplified Bible declares, “The plans of the mind and orderly thinking belongs to man, but from the lord comes the (wise) answer of the tongue.” Filtering through our thoughts, to get to His, is the key to following Him.
Finding Quiet Time with Him
Determine to find quiet time with Him to hear what He is saying to your heart. Luke 5:16 (Amplified Bible) declares, “But He (Jesus), withdrew (in retirement) to the wilderness (desert) and prayed.” The Living Bible declares, “But He often withdrew himself to the wilderness for prayer.” If Jesus had to get alone for direction from the Father, so do we. It is when we make time to seek Him, in a quiet place that we get to the mind of God. The next step awaits us all in Christ.
We so appreciate you and believe God with you for His best always.
