As we enter the month, I want to encourage you to focus in on one of the great benefits found in the redemptive plan of Christ. With all the talk lately in the news of health care reform, the Bible has the greatest health care reform called divine health. The President is working intently with Congress to expand health care benefits to all Americans. Jesus has already provided for all of us the greatest health care reform: divine health. 1 Peter 2:24 declares, “Who himself bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sin, should be alive unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.” The Cotton Patch version declares, “In order that we might shuck off our sins and live a good life, he bore our wrong doing on his shoulders as he hung from a tree, at his floggings you were cured.” The TCNT translation declares, “…his bruising was your healing.” The provision of divine health is provided for you right now in Christ Jesus.
This great promise of divine health is for all God’s children who take it by faith. 2 Peter 1:4 declares, “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” Weymouth says, “It is by means of these that he has granted us his precious and wondrous promises in order that through them you may, one and all, become sharers in the very nature of God, having completely escaped the corruption which exists in the world through earthly cravings.” This great promise of divine health is for one and for all in Christ, by faith.
I would like to present to you some redemptive facts, that lead us to our inheritance of divine health from the Word of God. As you meditate on these redemptive facts, you, too, can receive from God.
1.Sickness entered the world through man’s rebellion in the garden:
Rom 5:12, Genesis 2:17, Rom. 6:23
2.Sickness is from Satan, used to destroy and beat down humanity:
Acts 10:38, Luke 13:16, John 10:10
3.Jesus came to destroy the works of darkness:
1 John 3:8, Col. 2:15
4.You have been rescued out of Satan’s control:
Colossians 1:12-13, Hebrews 2:14-15
5.You have complete authority over Satan, sickness and disease:
Luke 10:17-19, Luke 9:1-2, Mark 16:17-18
6.Christ lives in you:
Galatians 2:20, 1 John 4:4, 1 Corinthians 6:19
7.You are positionally seated with Christ:
Ephesians 2:5-6, 2 Cor. 5:21, Col. 2:10
8.You must receive what is already yours in Christ Jesus:
2 Pet. 1:3-4, 2 Cor. 1:20
9.You must remember the Lord’s compassion to heal:
Matt. 9:35-36, James 5:11, Ps. 145:8-9
10.God is no respecter of persons:
Rom 2:10-11, Acts 10:34-35, Acts 15:9
3 John 1:2 declares, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers.” The Living Bible declares, “Dear friend, I am praying that all is well with you and that your body is as healthy as your soul is.” The Amplified declares, “Beloved I pray that you may prosper in every way and (that your body) may be kept well, even as I (know) your soul keeps well and prospers.” The New English Bible declares, “I pray that you may enjoy good health, and that all may go well with you, as I know it goes well with your soul.” Notice the emphasis from the Word about enjoying good health. Notice also, it is obtainable buy a renewed mind, that realizes healing is God’s will for you! We are believing God with you, right now, for divine health in your body in Jesus name!
