I have a question for you today: Is life working for you? Or does it feel like life is just falling apart? Maybe your boyfriend left you, you got laid off, your dog died, and your bank account got hacked. Well, even if that’s the case, I’m going to give you three short steps to turn things around so life can start working for you.
You’ve got to know what the Word of God says. For example, there’s a man who’s believing for this woman. He’s believing this woman will be his wife… only she’s married to another man. The Word doesn’t say you can believe for someone else’s spouse to become your spouse! So, listen, the first thing we need to do if we want to change our lives around, if we want life to start working on our behalf, is to know what the Word says about our situation. If the Word doesn’t say it, you can’t have it!
Now, the Word isn’t always as specific as, “Go out and buy you a black car that’s a 280z or a 300c.” The Word doesn’t always specify, but it does say is that God gives you the desires of your heart. What do you have need today? Whatever is needed for your life to turn around must be based on the Word of Almighty God.
You’ve got to stop operating in fear and start operating in faith. The Bible says that faith is the substance of what I’m hoping for, so I’ve got to put my faith in the very thing that God’s Word says I can have. Let’s say your money’s funny and you’ve got more going out than you have coming in. You get your Bible and read that if you’ll give as the Word says to give, God will give back to you. You have to open the Word, read what it says about your situation, and then make the decision that you will not operate in fear but faith.
When you decide to operate in faith, you say, “I’m giving to God. I’m a tither. Lord, thank You for blessing me according to Your Word. You said You’d open up the windows of heaven and pour me out a blessing that can’t be contained. Nations are calling me blessed. The devil’s rebuked for my sake. And the vine won’t cast forth my fruit before its time. What I give is coming back to me, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over. I have this all by faith in Your Word!”
The Bible says the just shall live by faith. If you look at the literal translation of this passage, it says you have to live by His faith, not your faith! His faith! What is His faith saying to you? What is His faith doing for you?
You’ve got to stand without wavering on what the Bible says. In Ephesians we read that, “having done all to stand, stand therefore.” When it doesn’t look like it’s working, keep standing. It’s not always going to look like it’s working, friend! But if you’ll stand on the Word without wavering, stand in faith not fear, doing what the Word says you are to do, you will have your promise. You will have a turned-around life like you prayed and believed you would have!
You just keep standing. Abraham stood almost twenty years for the promise of God. Sarah was well past child-bearing age. They were both knocking on 100 years old, but they kept standing on the Word. They did not fear. The Bible says that Abraham received the promise by faith, and he called those things that were not as though they were. What does that mean? It means he was calling himself the father of many nations before it ever happened. Before he ever had a child!
Maybe you’ve been waiting for months… for years! Don’t give up. The Word says that you’ll reap your promise in due time if you don’t give up. I understand that today life seems like it’s not working out for you. You could just cry and stay in bed. It’s easy to be depressed when everything seems to be going wrong! But if you’ll do these three things I’ve shared with you today, I know that God will turn things around for you. He will work on your behalf. Even when it seems like He’s not working, I promise you He is! Lift up your head. Dry your tears. Read your Bible. Find something to hold onto in there. Determine to walk in faith and reject the fear that tries to come. And stand, my friend. Having done all, just stand. It will work out for your good.
