Ryan Kwon on Missional Lifestyle

Written by: Ryan Kwon

Originally from Los Angeles, CA, Ryan was called to plant a multi-cultural church in hard soil, which led him to plant Resonate Church in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is passionate about gospel-centered preaching, making disciples, and has a vision to see many churches planted in his city. He currently serves on the Board of Acts 29, and outside of spending time with his wife Jenni, their two sons and daughter, he enjoys planting succulents and the torture of both Crossfit and cheering for UCLA football.

Throughout history, the church has prioritized conversions through personal evangelism. Today, our spiritual formation strategy has been truncated by separating discipleship from evangelism, whereby inviting someone to church has become synonymous with sharing the gospel. Ryan will press into what we might look like if discipleship and mission are not just independent departments of the church, but a holistically integrated apprenticeship toward the mission of God.
