“Then you will KNOW the truth, and the truth will set you FREE.” John 8:32
How can we navigate this life without the Word of God? How can we discern truth without the VOICE of God?
In this life, we can either listen to what Jesus has said or listen to what the people of this world say—you can’t listen to both. Those who listen to the voice of this world are listening to the voice of Satan himself, who draws people to love this world and themselves more than they love JESUS. Who wants to listen to a liar? Scripture tells us that the devil was a liar from the beginning! (John 8:44) When we listen to the world view and reject the Bible and all of its truth, we are listening to lies rather than truth!
God says in Scripture, “My people perish for a lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). If you never read the Word of God, you will never receive the spiritual keys to freedom from sin, pain, regret, fear, sickness and torment for all eternity. Why would I say this? Because Jesus Christ is the WORD (John 1:1). When we open our hearts to receive the truth found in the Word of God—the BIBLE—we will meet Jesus and our faith will grow.
Scripture tells us that “faith comes by HEARING, and hearing by the WORD OF GOD” (Romans 10:17). Today, I ask you to reconsider “truth” and pray to the Father to open your spiritual eyes to see JESUS through His WORD, just like Paul in Acts 9, whose spiritual eyes were opened when Ananias prayed for him. Paul was then able to understand the Word of God because he received the truth—that Jesus Christ is the Son of God—and was able to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which opened his spiritual eyes! We need revelation knowledge now like never before! The world is changing by the day! Hard times are ahead—but those who rest in the secret place of God’s love and His Word will never be put to shame!!! (Psalm 91; Romans 10:11)
Choose today who YOU will serve! (Joshua 24:15) You cannot love Jesus and love the world at the same time. It won’t work! Jesus said to Peter, before the testing of his faith, “Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat, but I have prayed for you, that that your faith should not fail” (Luke 22:31-32). Choose today to give your whole heart to Jesus and BE FREE! No other can truly satisfy your soul! Drink deeply of GOD’s love daily as you read His Word and rest in the peace of God that passes all understanding! Jesus is coming back SOON. Let’s be ready for HIS RETURN!
