2020: Your Year of Clear New Vision

Your eye is the most sophisticated camera in the world.  It takes lenses, reflection, focus, and communication to send “sight” to the brain.

Your spirit must be equally focused to communicate “insight” into your soul.

The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord has made them both” (Proverbs 20:12).

Have you “seen” your vision for next year?  For the next decade?

HERE ARE THREE STEPS I USE TO “SEE” FURTHER INTO 2020 AND “FOCUS” THAT IMAGE INTO MY SOUL:

1.   LOOK AROUND.

What are you currently “seeing” about your life?  What is the crystal clear reality about your family, business, children, health, etc.?

Don’t kid yourself.  Be real and brutally honest with yourself.  You can never grow, change, improve, or lead if you deny reality.

Mirrors don’t lie.  Scales don’t lie.  Checkbooks don’t lie.  Calendars don’t lie.  Make up your mind to believe what you currently “see” and make it the starting point for a brand new you in 2020!

2.   LOOK UP.

After you “see” your present reality very clearly, look up and start to “see” what is called a “blue sky.”  What is your potential?

Then the Lord took Abram outside and said, “LOOK UP into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!” (Gen. 15:5, NLT)

Have you looked PAST your current reality into how GOD sees it?

What can you see as your “blue sky” potential  in each of those areas if you just apply yourself toward it? Make up your mind to believe what you currently “see” and make it the starting point for a brand new you in 2020!Tweet This

3.   WRITE IT DOWN.

Now comes the clincher:

“Write the vision, make it plain on tablets, that he may run that reads it” (Habakkuk 2:2).

I like the “10 goal” method.  I write down the top ten areas I want to “see” a change in:  marriage, family, finances, health, ministry, devotions, growth, etc.

Next, I write the “goal” for each area.  It should be VERY specific. Then, I attach 2-3 action steps for each goal that will insure I will reach the goal if I just do those 2-3 things.

Finally, I change the goal to present tense, not “I want to” or “I will.”  If you say, “I weigh X pounds by the end of 2020” studies show you have a much greater chance to attain it.

Studies show that if you speak those crystal clear, attainable goals at least once a week next year, your chances of accomplishing them go through the roof!

Now, you have released the “eye” of your soul.  You are:

       1. Seeing reality,

       2. Seeing potential, and

       3. Seeing action steps.

As you read this blog, decide that 2020 will not be the same.  Print this blog.  Paste it on your mirror (or refrigerator!).  Alongside it, write your TEN GOALS FOR 2020.

I can’t wait to hear from some of you how your life has been TRANSFORMED in 2020!

Sit down today, close your natural eyes, and listen to your heart.

What you “see”is what you get.
